Georgia O’Keeffe ~
“I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life – and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.”
Catherine has been pursuing her love of art since the age of four, when her father noticed her creativity and encouraged her to pursue her interest in art. He shared his daughter’s love of the classics and encouraged her classical training. Both of her parents have been instrumental in bringing out Catherine’s own unique style of utilizing watercolors in her artwork. Catherine has also drawn inspiration from her travels to Russia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, England, and Mexico. The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia made a particular impact on her life and style of art.
Out of high school, Catherine was offered a scholarship at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. During her years at Art Center, she was offered her first high paying job as a computer graphic designer opening a new career working with computers. She has been able to apply her creative talents in developing web pages and databases.
Catherine takes great pleasure in creating large, detailed format watercolor paintings. Nature, animals, and children are her favorite subjects. She enjoys experimenting in other mediums, but her passion is in watercolors.
After taking some time away from painting to focus on her family, Catherine is excited to once again concentrate on her first love. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, teaching art to children, and spending time with her family.
